I really enjoyed your Keynote while I was exercising yesterday. Actually, I have been listening to your Podcasts for most of this fall semester. I teach pretty much what you teach, pre-service teachers technology at Fort Hays State University. I would like to open the lines of communication between us and discuss what you are doing in your classes. I am always looking to improve and I would really like to dicuss our class.Always trying to improve my classess so these future teachers enter the profession prepared.

Anyway, your keynote was EXCELLENT!!! I totally agree with your statement about school districts doing it backwards with regards to purchasing technology. The local school district here is doing exactly that. They are currently a Mac district and 1:1 at the High School. Each of the other building and several carts of iBooks and desktop numerous labs, etc. I have an EETT grant at one of the elementary schools and we are 1:1 in 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th grades. The lease on the Macs are up and they are going through the bidding process. Of course, there is a lawyer on the school board who thinks he knows more than anyone and has friends in the computer business, naturally he is making things difficult. The teachers and principals of the various buildings are frustrated and feeling like no one is listening and taking into consideration what is best for KIDS. You know how it goes, no doubt!

So, let’s talk!!!
